Description

Wolverine completed a 2nd Wal-Mart, located at 409 North Marketplace Blvd in Delta Township.  This project was an expansion to upgrade the Lansing Wal-Mart to "Supercenter" status.
The 80,000 square foot expansion to the existing Wal-Mart shopping center finished on schedule, even when severe weather conditions presented itself and unknown building obstacles surfaced.  The new center features drilled piers for foundation support, a complete facade, a grocery center featuring a seafood, deli and bakery area, revamped parking area, tenant build-outs, which included a Subway restaurant that was up and operating 13 days after transferring to a new location within the existing building. Wal-Mart itself remained open and operating normal business hours during all aspects of the expansion.
The entryway was expanded to include a new and updated customer service area, a Wal-Mart Family Fun Center, self service Bottle Recycle Center, a complete Hair Care location, Subway, and a Michigan State University outlet store.  To top off the completion of this expansion a 17,700 square foot interior Seasonal/ Garden Center was added along with new exterior racking and shade cloth location.  A shipping and receiving area was added along with a complete dock system to include 3 bays for unloading and loading of store products.  A new bale and pallet area was also installed to help with the recycling of store waste and to keep with Wal-Mart's goal to become environmentally compatible.  The Tire and Lube Center received updated equipment, which completed the entire makeover.
