Description

The NIA Convention Center at The Kalahari Resorts combines a stunning African theme with the most contemporary technology to facilitate its many meetings, presentations, social events, and more. To design, build, engineer, and program the entire audio visual system for this magnificent space, Kalahari called upon Sensory Technologies.

Overall, the NIA Center is comprised of 21 rooms, each capable of supporting high-resolution video broadcast, multiple video inputs and reinforced sound. These rooms include the Grand Ballroom, which can be zoned into eight separate rooms; a junior ballroom that can be zoned into five separate rooms; four octagonal conference rooms designed to look like African huts; two pre-function rooms, and finally, two executive boardrooms.

The executive boardrooms feature low profile table microphones, which clearly and accurately pick up audio during conference calls. Each room is outfitted with an impressive conference table complete with custom-made cable cubbies for laptop, network, and power connectors, and a rack to house components locally.

A touch panel controller provides quick, easy control over each room’s AV components that include DVD/VCR combo units, VHS tapes, CD playback, and cable television inputs. With wireless functionality, meeting attendees can make changes from anywhere in the room.

The system provides installed sound for background music, as well as program audio and local voice reinforcement throughout the entire convention center, including hallways, common areas, and atriums, among other areas.

Although the décor of the NIA Center takes guests a world away, the innovative technology delivers the most efficient, robust, and modern applications.
