Description

This historic seven-story structure was constructed from 1903 to 1928. It housed Globe Knitting and more recently, was used for retail, office, warehouse and light manufacturing by several companies. Feyen Zylstra was presented with the challene of converting this former industrial space into an attractive 110-unit residential apartment building, while at the same time adhering to historical preservation regulations. Design elements such as a large indoor central courtyard with bright sky lights gave the building a warm and inviting feel. Exposed HVAC ductwork and existing wood beams were tastefully used to retain the historic feel of the building and add to the open feel throughout.
