Description

This Allegan County Road Commission project included approximately 0.97 miles of roadway reconstruction including clearing, grading, excavation, HMA surfacing, guardrail replacement, drainage improvements and restoration on 121st Avenue between 36th Street and 34th Street in Allegan Township, MI.

The project was to upgrade an existing gravel road to meet the current standards of the Road Commission. In addition, the project required that the vertical alignment meets the design for a 55 mph design speed.

The Driesenga & Associates, Inc. (D&A) team provided geotechnical engineering and civil engineering design services on this project.

Specific tasks included design engineering, soil borings, plan preparation, verification of pavement design, bidding documents and opinion of probable costs to meet the requirements of the Allegan County Road Commission.

D&A also assisted the Road Commission during the construction phase by providing a part time inspector during construction.
