Description

At the request of Central Michigan University, Driesenga & Associates completed an investigation of drainage issues at the newly built Theunissen Baseball Field. Shortly after opening, the field experienced ponding after minor rain events and experienced poor root growth. The "new" Theunissen Stadium features a sand-based field which maximizes the drainage and ensures an outstanding playing surface. The project scope included field and laboratory investigation of soils and review of project plans, specifications and project management documentation. A full report outlining the performance of the existing drainage system along with proposed solutions was completed for Owner review. Driesenga & Associates provided assistance to the Owner throughout the mediation process. Surveying services were also provided on this project.
