Design Program:  A new free-standing building for an established and expanding catering business. The current operation of the catering business housed a restaurant business under the same name that shared the same kitchen facilities. The owner wished to separate himself  from the restaurant business and focus on the catering operation. The new facility offers a larger kitchen, all new kitchen equipment, a showroom, office, and a garage for dry storage that is also capable of housing three vehicles for   loading and unloading of catered meals.

Design Challenges:  This project was the first building to be built in the newly developed site condominium development at Midlink Business Park. This Business Park was created on the site of vacated GM Assembly Plant. Simultaneously to the design effort, the owner was negotiating  for the purchase of the site, having intensive environmental studies completed and acquiring funding for the project. This project established the procedure for future sales of lots in this site condominium         development. This project was also the first project to been submitted and approved by the Midlink  Design   Review  Committee, again helping to establish procedure and criteria.
