Pioneer Construction

Pioneer Construction served as the General Contractor on the renovation of the Atrium Woods building in southeast Grand Rapids, beginning in late 2009. The building now serves as the Corporate Headquarters for  international foreign exchange firm, Global Forex.  Portions of the approximately 43,000 square foot building remained occupied throughout the renovation process. Therefore, considerable dust and noise control measures were incorporated to ensure occupant safety and comfort throughout construction. Due to the critical nature of the round-the-clock business operations, technology infrastructure required installation of a dual UPS (battery back-up) in addition to redundant natural gas generators and a mobile generator connection. High-end security systems include video surveillance, motion sensors, perimeter controls, and biometric technology. Unique finishes throughout the building create a truly inspiring office environment. Design partner, Integrated Architecture specified exceptional finishes including ironwood, bamboo, teak, exotic veneers, marble, Italian granite surfaces, etched glass partitions, and distinctive ‘cloud' ceilings. Metal accent panels and electro-static painting of all exterior window mullions improved the exterior presentation and ‘curb appeal'.
