Acoustics By Design

Acoustics By Design worked with A.M.D.G. Architects, Inc., to design comprehensive architectural acoustics in the new Ridgeview Industries Corporate Headquarters.  Ridgeview Industries has a horizontal management style.  The office, common areas, and manufacturing facility was to be designed to flow together as much as possible.  The plans included a gymnasium, cafeteria, commons area, and exercise room, as well as a waiting room and meeting room.  This mixed-use space would house everything from loud sports activities to sensitive office conversations all under the same roof.  To make the challenge greater, the new space would be added onto an existing manufacturing facility, to which it would share a bearing wall.

Acoustics By Design worked hard to develop an intricate plan for addressing the multiple acoustical issues.  We made recommendations for construction features that would lower the reverberation time in the larger spaces, like the gym, and café’, while raising the sound isolation in the smaller spaces, like the waiting room and meeting room.  Our design provided Ridgeview Industries with the proper amount of acoustical treatment to meet their needs for years to come.

Architectural Glass & Metals, Inc.

Project included approximately 7,500 sf of aluminum curtainwall, strip windows, all glass doors, glass handrail and 5,000 sf of custom fabricated aluminum composite panels furnished and installed by Architectural Glass & Metals, Inc.

AGM worked closely with the architect (AMDG) to help design and detail the "RED" composite panel feature wall to facilitate a consistent interior / exterior expression.  AGM also worked closely with the composite panel supplier (Riverside Group) to develop a rivet-less fabrication system to achieve the clean crisp design aesthetic desired by the design team.

Feyen Zylstra, LLC

Ridgeview Industries hired Feyen Zylstra’s Electrical Construction group to design and install the electrical systems for its manufacturing plant. In addition to the design for the manufacturing facilities, the project team designed the electrical systems for the support offices complex. These areas include a gym, exercise room, cafeteria, kitchen, and computer room with an uninterruptable power supply. With the open ceiling design in some of the community areas, the design and installation had to be especially neat, paying close attention to aesthetics.

RIDGEWOOD INDUSTRIES - North Ridge Facility

Location: Walker, Michigan

This audio system, designed and built by the team at ASCOM, Inc., solved the owners desire to retain their history of effective employee relations and active communications. ASCOM, Inc. provided systems for high level plant paging, open office speech privacy and paging, employee excercise/gym/aerobics music and voice, and emergency tone alert and voice evacuation. Also paging, alert, evacuation, and voice signals could be accessed at each of Ridgewood's plants.
