Challenge: To energize and update the outdated performance hall within a 3-month construction period. - transform the theater experience by enveloping the audience in dramatic, changing, colored light that completely washes the sides of the hall. - integrate state of the art audio-visual systems and improve the theatrical lighting and production capabilities while enhancing the overall room acoustics. - infuse the space with new architectural finishes, seating, railings, accent lighting, and features including new balcony fronts and major wood and glass side walls. - incorporate barrier-free improvements throughout including barrier- free seating areas at all levels. - develop design elements, processes, and methods to support the extremely aggressive construction schedule.

One of the largest convention centers in the midwest, DeVos Place Convention center has 28 meeting rooms, 4 ballrooms, 3 massive convention halls, and miles of hallways and service cooridors. ASCOM, Inc. provided the installation of the 2-way video/data/tv distribution system as well as the design and build of the audio system. The audio system features a computer controlled system that provides for room combining, room scheduling, audio routing, touch panel room controls, system monitoring, and all digital signal processing requirements.
