Acoustics By Design was brought in by THA Architects to consult on comprehensive room acoustics and mechanical noise control for Lake Fenton High School in Linden, Michigan. Recommendations were made for the Auditorium, Commons, Gymnasium, Media Center, and Music Rooms. Our professional engineers used ray-tracing computer programs to identify the specific acoustical problems for each room. We then diagnosed the issues and offered solutions that were both practical and cost effective. Our project report also included specifications for how to control the noise from the building’s mechanical systems. In an education facility, the right amount of acoustical control can lead to quiet environments, focused students, and happy teachers.
