The Gerald and Jane-Ann Postma Center for Worship and Education is located on the campus of Pine Rest in Cutlerville. Its purpose is to serve as a welcoming center, a place of worship and an education training facility for the community and staff. Sustainability is a priority for Pine Rest and was an important consideration in the adaptive re-use of the existing structure that once housed a gymnasium. The project consists of 15,500 square feet of new construction and renovated space and has been submitted to the USGBC for LEED certification.

The center can seat up to 500 theater-style, or 250 at tables in the main auditorium. The main auditorium has the ability to be divided into four conference rooms with 20’ tall operable wall panels for smaller training sessions. A key architectural feature of the auditorium is a one-of-a-kind, curved acoustical tile ceiling that was custom fabricated on the jobsite. The exterior facade is a mix of pre-patina copper panels, brick, composite panels, iron wood, stained glass, and a cross spire. Demolition and construction for The Postma Center were completed in 9 months.
