Description

The new Danbury Police Station is a 75,000 sf, Victorian-style building that houses a state-of-the-art public safety facility. The project met several critical needs for the City - created a high-tech, high-performance public safety facility to replace an outdated facility and re-established the Main Street setting as the gateway to the City. From a construction standpoint, the project overcame significant environmental challenges, kept to the budget and schedule, and fostered an exceptional level of teamwork and dedication among all team members to attain a common goal.

Hawley Construction was selected as construction manager for the Danbury Police Headquarters during the site selection process. Hawley was joined by Jacunski Humes Architects, to for form the nucleus of the team in the development and construction of this marquee project. The Danbury Police Department was in dire need of a new facility that consolidated its operations under one roof and provided needed space and functionality. The project was designed around the selected site at 375 Main St.

Designed to compliment the Victorian style architecture of the area, the building is a three story, brick veneer structure with mansards that include copper louvers and composite shingles creating a slate appearance. The building is 74,839 square feet and is designed for the department's future growth. The team was able to complete this project within four years of inception, including twenty-two months of construction.
