Award Description
ECI’s largest single project to date is the newly completed 4 story, 450,000 square foot facility for The Hartford Insurance Group located in Windsor, CT. The building consisted of a four story center main pod with three four story wings on each side of the main pod. The Owner occupied the project 12 months after ECI mobilized and started construction.
The heart of the facility is the massive electrical distribution building that included four 3000 amp service switchboards interconnected to paralleling switchboard by a 4000 amp busway that has the ability to utilize one 2 megawatt generator, one 1.75 megawatt generator with provisions for a third 1.5 megawatt generator for emergency back up power. Additional emergency provisions included two 750 Kilo-watt and one 500 Kilo-watt Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS’s) that provide back up power to vital data equipment and work stations through-out the building.
