Award Description
The new Science Park Garage is helping the City of New Haven realize its goal of revitalizing a former industrial site - the former home of the Winchester rifle manufacturer - into viable commercial and retail space. The owner, Winstanley Enterprises, chose Design/Build delivery to meet the very challenging project schedule. Extensive abatement and remediation work, as well as old utility tunnels and foundations on the site added to the challenge. Through the efforts of this actively engaged owner, a strong design/build team, and dedicated project staff and trade contractors, the new Science Park Garage is an exceptional enhancement to this urban neighborhood.
