Award Description
Hawley Construction Corporation (HCC) acted as the Construction Manager for the Maranatha Foundation, a Christian based philanthropic organization, dedicated to the betterment of disadvantaged residents of Danbury, CT and its surrounding geographical areas. Hawley Construction Corporation originally visited the site in October of 2007, in order to provide cost estimates on contemplated work even before the offer was made to purchase the building. The building itself was a former furniture store that was sitting vacant for about a year. Approximately 29,000 SF in size, it housed a turn-of-the-century factory, circa 1896, in the heart of downtown Danbury, CT.
This job is special because it is a rebirth and complete transformation of a building for the sole purpose of doing God's work in the community. The concept of volunteerism and helping people is no where more evident than at Jericho Samaritan Center. The program is a model for like minded organizations in many other cities and regions throughout Connecticut.
