Award Description
This project consists of a boiler/chiller plant efficiency upgrade. The existing boilers, chiller, cooling tower and pump were removed. The new equipment installed includes two 500-ton York chillers, three 500-ton BAC cooling towers, three 355 HP flexible tube dual fuel low NOX boilers, 9 base mounted pumps and a new combustion air make-up unit.
Project Description
Modern Mechanical Systems completed the Central Plant upgrades of the hot water, chilled water and condenser water systems. There are (3) new 14,000 MBH boilers and (3) new hot water pumps. The chilled water system consists of (2) new 450-ton chillers, an existing 1,000-ton chiller and (3) new pumps. The condenser water system consists of a 3-cell cooling tower and (3) new condenser water pumps. There were (2) new ventilation systems installed and the existing DDC building automation system was upgraded to include the new equipment. This challenging project involving the Central Plant upgrade serving a 320,000 SF office and laboratory facility was completed with minimal down-time or interruptions.
